Creating Shared Visions
Austin Fire Department
The Austin Fire Department Phase 6 Renovations was awarded to the Design-Build Team of CasaBella Architects and Southwest Corporation. These fire stations were originally constructed between the years 1929 and 1957, when there were only male firefighters. The objective of this renovation project is to update the design of each station to include women’s locker room facilities, improve space programming, update design and construction to meet ADA/TAS code compliance, and improve external façade damage. This project demanded an accelerated schedule that included phasing of each design and construction portion in order to accommodate moving each fire crew to a temporary station during the construction of their respective stations.
