Huston-Tillotson University Residence Hall

In 2013, the Design/Build team of JE Dunn and CasaBella Architects was awarded the renovation of the Beard-Burrows and Allen-Frazier residence halls.  An intense assessment of the both facilities was begun as well as interviews with students, staff and faculty to determine goals and dreams.  Several design options emerged during the design process, all the way through permitting phase.  A final design solution was established in time to begin construction during the summer of 2014.  The final scope included total renovations of the 3-story “community” buildings, including renovated rooms, new bathrooms, elevators, laundry rooms with adjacent exercise spaces, community spaces with kitchenettes, computer rooms and other support spaces.
