Ullrich Water Treatment Plant

The Ullrich plant is located in the middle of Westlake Hills, Texas, on an elevated site west of downtown Austin overlooking Lake Austin.  Most of the current City of Austin Water and Wastewater Utility’s projects have been industrial in nature.  The goal of the architects was to design compatible but refined structures that improved the overall view of the plant from adjacent hilltops and from the main road next to the plant.

The most noteworthy building is the new Lime Storage Building.  This building houses large metal hoppers for the storage and distribution of lime used in the water treatment process. . CasaBella has performed work on the Ullrich Water Treatment Plant almost continuously since 2002. Our work in 2006 won the 2006 AIA Austin Merit Award for Design Excellence and the 2007 Texas Construction News Award for Best Public Building.
